Swim Stage 6

Swim Stage 6 builds swimming technique, stamina, and water safety awareness. Swimmers learn how to prepare for exercise and understand its importance. Key skills include rotating into front crawl and backstroke from a streamlined glide, swimming while clothed, and demonstrating rhythmical breathing across all strokes. Learners perform a surface dive, practise a “shout and signal” rescue, and exit the pool unaided. The stage culminates in a 25-metre swim (any stroke to standard) and a minimum 400-metre swim, highlighting endurance and stroke control.
