Learn To Swim

Stages 1 - 7

At World of Swimming, we proudly follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework, the leading national syllabus for teaching children to swim. Stages 1–7 form the core of this programme, giving children the essential skills they need to be safe, confident, and capable swimmers.

From building early water confidence in Stage 1 to mastering all four strokes and advanced skills by Stage 7, our small class sizes and expert teachers ensure every swimmer makes progress in a fun and supportive environment.

Learn to Swim Stage 1

In Stage 1, swimmers build early water confidence. They’ll learn to enter and exit the water safely, move forwards, backwards, and sideways for about 5 metres, float on their front and back, push and glide off the wall, and reorient themselves before standing up, all while becoming comfortable with water on their faces.
