Swim Stage 5

Swim Stage 5 focuses on improving technique, stamina, and water skills. Swimmers practise a variety of sculling techniques, including partner work and rotation, and demonstrate control through treading water and performing shaped jumps into deep water. Core swimming strokes—backstroke, front crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly—are refined over 10 metres to Swim England standards. Additional skills include handstands, forward somersaults, and understanding how to get help in an emergency. The stage culminates in a minimum 200-metre swim, showcasing endurance and proficiency.
