Duckling Awards

The Duckling Awards are designed to build early water confidence and independence in young swimmers, preparing them for the deeper Learn to Swim framework starting from Stage 1.

Each stage focuses on encouraging children to enjoy being in the water, teaching them to submerge, float, move, and use basic techniques in a fun, supportive setting. Each stage (Duckling 1–4) comes with its own colourful certificate and badge, celebrating small, exciting milestones.

At this stage, swimmers practice sitting entries and log-roll rotations, slowly moving toward more self-reliance. They’ll confidently submerge the face, blow objects across the water, and travel along the pool’s edge unaided.

At this final stage, swimmers jump in confidently, perform star or mushroom floats, and execute 360° rolls and streamlined glides. They can swim 10 metres unaided, and jump in, swim back to the edge, then climb out, demonstrating solid independence at the water’s edge.
