What We’re Looking For
Role Overview
As the Southampton & New Forest Swim Manager, you will:
- Deliver high-quality swimming lessons using the Swim England framework
- Oversee daily operations at the Regents Park and Forest Lodge swim schools
- Supervise, coach, and support a team of Swim Instructors
- Ensure lessons run smoothly, safely, and to a high teaching standard
- Be the friendly, professional point of contact for families and swimmers
- Uphold our values and create an environment where swimmers and staff thrive
What We’re Looking For
- ASA Level 2 / STA Certificate (or international equivalent)
- Baby & Preschool qualification (bonus but not essential)
- Confident communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
- Strong swimming ability and up-to-date teaching knowledge
- Lifesaving qualification (preferred, but we can provide training)
- Passion for helping young swimmers progress in small group settings
- Natural leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and support a team
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, fun, and progressive lessons from beginners to competitive levels
- Create structured, engaging classes following the Swim England framework
- Build strong relationships with parents, offering feedback and support
- Complete new swimmer inductions and request swimmer reviews
Team Management
- Supervise and mentor Swim Instructors during lessons
- Lead pre-shift team huddles and cascade important updates
- Conduct staff reviews, training sessions, and performance feedback
- Manage rota cover and staff attendance, ensuring every shift is staffed
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Oversee the smooth operation of both sites in line with SOPs and safety standards
- Complete Supervisor reports, term planning, and KPI updates
- Manage swimmer movements, cancellations, and progress tracking via Soakly
- Maintain equipment, teaching resources, swim hats, and progress cards
- Carry out facilities checks (temperature, chlorine levels, cleanliness)
- Ensure poolside areas are safe, clean, and ready before and after sessions
Health & Safety Leadership
- Ensure safeguarding, risk assessments, and H&S policies are consistently followed
- Lead by example in maintaining vigilance and responding to incidents
- Support safety drills, compliance checks, and staff readiness
